VINE
In 2000, a joint effort between the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention and Appriss brought the Victim Information & Notification Everyday (VINE) system to the Carroll County Detention Center. A national call center located in Louisville, Kentucky continuously monitors offender and court case activity through a connection to the detention centers Keystone Jail Management system every 15 minutes.
Victims of crime can call the VINE system to obtain court case or offender information or they can register for notification to receive a phone call or email of an upcoming case or if an offender is released from jail. VINE uses an automatic calling system that notifies registered victims that the inmate has been released, with no human contact required.
This service is available in English or Spanish, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you would like more information about this service or want to register, visit www.vinelink.com, call 1-866-MD4-VINE or call your local State's Attorney's Office, Victim Witness unit for assistance.
