ACCIDENT REPORTS
Accident Reports can be requested by clicking the link below. You will need the Report Number AND Last Name of involved party OR Last Name of involved party AND date of incident.
Fee for Accident Reports: $8.00 for the first page plus $2.00 for each additional page.
You will be prompted for payment at the time of the request.

Offense Reports are kept locally and can be requested by completing a

You can download this form from our website to mail or complete one at the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, 100 North Court Street, Westminster, MD. We cannot accept this request electronically at this time as a signature of the requestor is required..
- The first two hours of research for a PIA request are conducted without charge. If the search takes more than two hours, a fee of $35.00 per hour will be assessed. Once it is determined that the search will exceed two hours, the requestor will be provided with a cost estimate which must be paid prior to completing the request.
- The fee is $0.25 per page for reports distributed by the Sheriff’s Office.
- $10.00 fee for electronic media (digital information on CD or DVD).
- Victims of crimes may receive one copy of the report without a fee.
We accept cash, check or money order. If paying by cash, please have exact amountas we are unable to provide change. Payment is due at the time the report is picked up.
PLEASE NOTE:
According to Maryland Law, the Sheriff must release all qualifying Sheriff's Office reports within thirty 30 Days.
We will do all that is possible to accommodate last minute requests needed for court or any other proceedings, but this is not always feasible. Plan accordingly and allow yourself enough time so that your request can be properly researched, copied, and referred to the Custodian of Records for final approval before release.
According to the Maryland Public Information Statute, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office is not required to release any report which is:
- Considered an open or continuing investigation
- Considered confidential due to public safety concerns
- Considered administrative in nature
